about

Originally these were private recordings, interior music, for meditational purposes. I would play shruti box along with them, finding stillness in the swarm. I encourage the listener to do the same, with your voice or any instrument that allows your divining movements to take you where you need to go. Sound & ritual, interacting with place & memory. I visited Kata Tjuṯa in Australia's Northern Territory almost twenty years ago. Now, memory is the shadow slowly ascending the red domed rock formation. Travelling through this expanse, I emerge once more, across a wilderness illuminated, into the desert light. We are at once, The Void & The Brightness, Inseparable.

'In the songlines, letting go
Of the space between
Beating eagles' wings
& the sound of sandflies
Slowing down...'

David Colohan Ireland

'An eerie loveliness that should really be soundtracking a Werner Herzog film; indeed Popol Vuh’s work provides a useful reference point as, similar to Vuh, the music herein is almost religious in its solemnity and grace.' The Active Listener
